No hot water. Told water heater was broken. Was told by staff this was known issue. Not cool. Seems like pretty basic expectation based upon price. Small room with questionable accessibility/safety considerations. No windows, only one entrance down winding hallway with steps. Be careful, most pics shown of main hotel, but room was located in separate building across street in our case, and pretty different than shown. Location good, staff friendly, art was local and nice touch. Breakfast was fine; but continental, left at your door without choices of any kind. Due to no hot water requested refund. Have done this once before in 30 years travelling. Was told could only receive partial credit (commission portion of the sale). After two weeks have yet to see this come back, but less than a third of the overall room cost. UPDATE: Providing an update to this review in fairness. After discussion with management, a full refund was determined to be appropriate. It took another follow up call, but the credit was eventually issued.
This hotel is not what it used to be. If looking for a historic establishment with a nod to Charleston’s history, this is not your place. The rooms have been renovated with some of the gaudiest fixtures they could find. The artwork is nice, but not really something that adds value when staying here. The service is great, as it should be when paying downtown prices. The location of this hotel is its best asset. With the opening of newer and nicer establishments nearby, this one will need to keep up if they expect to stay open. I’m a local who rarely goes downtown to avoid the crowds and fight for a parking spot. Next time I’ll probably pick a different hotel nearby.
We really enjoyed our stay at The Vendue. The hotel is very modern, with a fun vibe. The room was spacious. The hotel had some nice amenities like champagne at check in, daily wine in the afternoon and cookies at night. They also delivered pastries to the room every morning. The employees were all very accommodating. The location was great. We would stay again. Their sister location, The Enclave is more subdued and quiet.
Absolutely a great stay. Greeted by a warm host with champagne and info. The room was clean, and the bed was conformable with nice pillows. Breakfast snacks are brought to your room in the morning. The coffee service and snack lunch service at the stairs was just a wonderful touch. WE WILL BE BACK.
Lovely boutique hotel with fabulous art work! The location is perfect to walk to restaurants and sites in the historic french quarter. Service was exceptional from the guest experience managers and valets. Rooms were very clean and tastefully decorated. My husband thought the bed was one of the most comfortable for a hotel - and we have traveled extensively. The Rooftop Bar was enjoyable for happy hour and lunch. Highly recommend and would return!
