We just spent the most amazing 2 days here. The hotel staff goes above and beyond in making sure our stay here was perfect. The moment you step through the door you are greeted with a smile and the most fun and interesting artwork! The hotel offered a daily cocktail and art talk from The knowledgeable curator Allison. She is so friendly and happy to share her selection process and what she knows of each artist. The hotel is perfectly located to walk everywhere in the tourist district , including the waterfront park a block away. The nuts and bolts- Charleston is not a great place to visit if you are in anyway walking impaired. The sidewalks are simply too uneven. Parking is at a premium and public lots are located within a block of the hotel at a much lower rate. Book your dinners in advanced. Take a historic walking tour of the city to help get your bearings. We had a lovely tour guide called Mary Helen Dantzler from Two Sisters Tours. She is a 7th generation Charlestonian who offered us much in site and personal stories about the beautiful city. She was a great storyteller and had a wonderful sense of humor!! Enjoy true southern charm is this beautiful city.

Gorgeous hotel right in the middle of everything. Lots of extras like fresh baked goods on the door every morning, mimosas, sherry, and coffee downstairs. Room was quiet and really comfortable. Staff was super helpful and friendly. We loved the rooftop bar across the street and all the art! Highly recommend this hotel. We’ll likely stay here again when we return to Charleston!

This hotel looks cool but that’s the only cool thing about it. We were assigned a room that was already occupied and when we walked in there was a couple in bed! We were locked out at first and the manager let us in with her key. She didn’t even know it was occupied. After the mixup we didn’t get an apology. Instead we were farmed out to the hotel across the street which was sub par to the main building. It was loud and we could hear everything. The rooftop bar which is ‘the best in the city’ was terrible. We sat outside in the cold and dark because they wouldn’t turn the lights on while the 20 yr olds inside the bar were screaming and making it impossible to sit in there under the heat lamps. The check in process took 45 minutes and we witnessed another guest changing rooms due to bugs in their room. It’s a shame that this hotel isn’t managed properly because the concept is unique and artsy, and the location is great, which is why we paid $500 to stay there. Overall it’s just a huge disappointment and not worth the money. Update: the hotel reached out and expressed their concern about our stay. They offered us a nights stay and a food voucher along with a sincere apology. It’s nice that they’re monitoring their reviews and rectified the situation. We’re going to give them another chance and are looking forward to visiting Charleston again.

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous. From the moment you pull up to the valet parking you are treated like royalty. Champagne or wine during check in, cookies and milk at night, and a wonderful breakfast bag on our door when we got up. Nicolas even lined up a spur of the moment private tour of the historic district. The art is also Amazing! If you get a chance stay here you will not regret it!

What a fabulous little gem to explore while traveling on business! Funky decor and quirky, unique rooms added to the charm for my group. The bulldog door knockers just put me over the edge! You can see how often their little noses have been booped by guests passing by—and I was no exception. The art was vibrant, bold, and fun. Staff super attentive. And who can complain about the breakfast treats left on the door every morning. They even went the extra mile to get me gluten and dairy free items. Would definitely stay again!
