The food is amazing! The quality of the ingredients is outstanding. The service is excellent. The piano playing in the background makes a perfect atmosphere for fine dining. Andrew was very attentive. I highly recommend you eat here.
We actually ate here three times during our stay at the Francis Marion. The wait staff and chef are sweet and professional, they clearly love their jobs and enjoy it! The food is very good! We had the NY strip, the Burger, French Toast, Pancakes, and Breakfast sandwich. There are a lot of places to eat in Charleston but this is a place you should not miss!
We came for a late dinner on a Saturday and there were plenty of open tables. There was live piano music playing which definitely elevated the atmosphere. Our server was courteous and professional. I appreciated the freshly baked sourdough bread and butter that came before our meal.
The Swamp Fox is my favorite restaurant in Charleston! And the food and ambiance is only topped by the welcoming staff. The Francis Marion Hotel (which operates The Swamp Fox) is a privately owned hotel, which is an increasingly rare thing today, and it really shows! Many of the employees have been at the hotel and restaurant for over a decade, and obviously love their job and love the hotel. The Swamp Fox for Charleston! Shrimp and Grits are amazing, as well as the salmon.
What a great hotel restaurant with delicious food and pleasant staff. The fried green tomatoes were delicious. The she crab soup was filled with tasty lumps of crab and then the fried chicken with collard greens was downright yummy.
