Excellent hotel, perfectly curated, authentic mid century decor and finishes. Very nice hotel bar and service. The guests and some of the younger ladies at the front desk were a bit stuffy, but that’s to be expected in Charleston. Bartenders and those running the dining area were fantastic. Beautiful cocktails. Loved the details and comfort of the rooms. I’ll definitely be back.
Our stay at The Dewberry was truly wonderful. The staff was exceptionally kind and professional, our room was immaculate with a stunning view, and the location was perfect for exploring nearby shops and restaurants. The decor beautifully blends Old South charm with mid-century elegance. The bar staff was outstanding—we returned after dinner and were thoroughly impressed by the service, expertly crafted drinks, and delicious desserts.
Wonderful stay here at Dewberry. Great rooms, classic and very nicely updated with Toto appliances. AC worked great. Turndown service was thoughtful and timely. The rooftop Citrus Bar was wonderful! Great drinks & view to watch the sunset. Service was fantastic & location was very accessible to the fun restaurants and shops on king street. They also have fun additions like a hot coffee and tea cart which transforms into a hot chocolate and hot cider cart with ginger cookies in the afternoon. Such delightful thoughtful little details.
This hotel is top notch! We received excellent service from the moment we walked in the door. A courteous reception staff got us checked in seamlessly and we were on our way to the room quickly, but not before being greeted with a glass of their house tea and a glass of champagne. Our room was a single room suite and was amazing! The decor, the cleanliness, everything was well done. The bed was very comfortable as well. The bathroom fixtures were great and matched the luxury of the hotel. We went to the Citrus Club on the roof for a drink and loved it! The outside was closed due to weather but the small bar area inside was nice and had bar seating along with a few booths. McKenzie and Clark took good care of us up there. It wasn’t too busy so they struck up some conversation with us and never acted too busy for us. The Brass Bar in the Living Room downstairs was awesome also. We went for a drink while waiting on a dinner reservation and Tom the bartender was a magician with his cocktails. He had really good recommendations and offered ideas that provided a twist on standard drinks. It’s clear that he’s an expert at what he does. Valet service was great as well and the Volvo drop off service is a great touch. Free drop-offs within a certain radius of the hotel is a great benefit that you don’t see often. This hotel was a splurge for my wife and I to celebrate but the service matched the cost! We would definitely stay here again.
Had an amazing stay at the Dewberry. All the staff are welcoming and make you feel at home. The rooms miss no details - from the Matouk towels to the robes and slippers provided the room is very comfortable. The suite has a small sitting area with a desk that makes the room have a Charleston charm. Breakfast in their living room area was delicious and drinks at the living room area was nice too. They bring out homemade caramel popcorn that was amazing. I did not realize that their rooftop bar, the Citrus Club, is one of the top”happening” spots in Charleston with a 360 degree view. The drinks and food is amazing. They have planters up there with fresh limes and lemons so it feels like a garden party. If you are staying at the hotel, you can put your name in downstairs and skip the entire waitlist. We got a table twice within 10 minutes during SEWE festival since we happened to be staying at the hotel. When we come back to Charleston we will most definitely be staying at the Dewberry again!
