Scheduling was fast and easy. They came to give a free estimate and he was so friendly and answered all my questions. Booking was easy with a simple phone call. I got several email reminders prior to move date. On move date, I got a call with a 30 min heads up, which was on the early side of the time range they gave a few days before. The six guys were super friendly, efficient and treated my belongings so well. Everything was wrapped and protected appropriately. No dings at either house or on any belongings. Very happy with service the whole way through.

WOW! These guys were amazing! Super polite, personable, and they moved like a whirlwind. They unloaded our 26’ & 15’ Uhaul trucks in about 3 hours! Highly recommended, I’d hire these guys again in a heartbeat (although I hope to not move again for a long, long time).

This is the second time I have used Smooth Move and they always exceeded my expectations! The movers are friendly, very diligent and careful with your belongings and get the job done in a timely manner. I have moved several times over the years and I will never use another company.

UPDATE: Smooth Move reached out to me after this review and offered a full refund which I declined but accepted the waiver on the three hour minimum charge which reduced the fee to the time actually spent on the move. The experience was still bad as noted below, but at least the company did outreach to try to make it more fair.
I had a bad experience with Smooth Move on a simple local move. First, and the most unacceptable problem, there was a shower faucet leak in my rental apartment and one mover went to use the bathroom and inexplicably tried to shut the water off and broke the faucet handle off completely. He mentioned something about the leak but did not tell me he broke the handle! I found out when I returned to hand in my keys and do a final check. Obviously, they wanted the tip and therefore didn't own up to their mistake or assure me the company would reimburse me. The company did pay for the damage but I had the headache of dealing with the landlord and moving company because their movers simply don't know enough to mind their own business. Second problem is the attitude of the movers: One complained constantly about how tired he was and had the audacity to sit in my desk chair to "test" how comfortable it was. He was smoking outside the apartment but stank of cigarettes when he entered my apartment. They didn't wrap all my furniture, saying it wasn't necessary on a short trip. I eventually insisted they wrap key pieces but regret not insisting they wrap everything because there were dings on a side table. When we arrived at my new home, I had to ask that they put down runners to not damage the floors and the driver handed me the runners to put down myself. On arrival they did not put legs back on my furniture. So three movers showed up as people who didn't want to do the job and didn't know how to behave professionally. I moved across the country using Allied before this local move and it was handled perfectly.
