Out of all E Bay St restaurants, this is the most price-efficient but very good place you will find for dinner.
Mac&cheese was so delicious I almost wanna order a second portion!
Flounder is very moist but crispy and the sauce is interesting with it. The only thing I wish if it will come with a side included.
General Chicken had lots of flavor and the dish was a big size that makes you completely full once you done with it.
Service is amazing, Chris cared about our table and that’s the type of situation when you feel good about tipping 20% of your check.
The crowd is mostly young people. You can watch TV. Seating is great as well — we got a 4 people table just for 2 of us without any reservation. Recommend!

This is our second time to Charleston and we wanted to try a few recommended spots and Rudy’s was just a few steps from where we stayed. I must say, I just don’t get it. It’s like going to a fancy steakhouse, but instead of steak, they serve fried chicken. If you want anything else you order it separately. My wife and I ordered the half chicken, a salad, and the potatoes, and we just shared it. The Caesar salad was good, the potatoes were ok and overly sweet, but the chicken was a huge disappointment. There was no flavor to the chicken itself as it all seemed to be in the breading. Don’t get me wrong, I love fried chicken skin, but as you can see from the picture, there was so much breading on the two breast pieces, and it was a bit overcooked and could only eat so much of it. I knew going in it was expensive but charging $27 for half of a chicken that costs $6, that should be the best chicken ever. It was not even close. The waiter was attentive at first but then spent most of his time talking to the hostess and another lady, only asking if we wanted more drinks after we were done eating, and well after the drinks were gone. Nice location and we were looking forward to something other than seafood or shrimp and grits, but with so many other options, I wouldn’t go back.

Trey did a great job in providing recommendations and service. The food was amazing. Especially, the watermelon, the fries with special sauce and crispy cracked potatoes. Rudy even came out and greeted us at the table. All-in-all a great experience!

We drove from Folly Beach into Charleston for a local non-seafood dinner place and chose Rudy’s due to the menu online. The food was good and service was top notch! We had the following:
Fried Pickles (typical fried pickles)
Mac-n-Cheese (extra delicious and creamy)
Chicken Tenders (juicy and excellent breading)
Chicken Pot Pie (flavorful and savory)
Flank Steak (divine)
Garlic Cracked Potatoes (delish with a twist)
Strawberry Shortcake (this was just okay, as the shortcake was very dense)
There was initially a weird smell to the entry area and where we were seated. Might have been sewer or cleaning products? It went away as we acclimated and food smells filled out table.

Great atmosphere, service and food! Trey was our server and was excellent - very attentive, personable and friendly. We came in for lunch and shared a Nashville hot chicken sandwich and a chicken pot pie - both were delicious, some of the best chicken we've had in a long time and the Nashville hot did not play around - perfect balance of spice and flavor. Would absolutely stop in again and ask for Trey!
