Boyfriend picked up breakfast from here. The food was pretty good, except for one exception. I had been excited for the bananas foster French toast but it was disappointing. The alcohol wasn’t cooked out properly and instead of the sauce being rich and caramel-like it was separated into liquid and what I assume is brown sugar.
The shrimp omelet was absolutely amazing, I had to simply close my eyes and melt into my seat after the first bite. The Biscuit was a little dense for my liking and the grits weren't creamy, they were pretty watery and gritty. My husband liked his sweet heat chicken a lot and the sausage gravy biscuits he loved. The vanilla coffee was way too milky, couldn't even taste any coffee. The service was great, the young black male with braids who waited our table was friendly, attentive and quick. I would certainly go back.
While home from off the road life decided to come downtown and enjoy Brunch. Well, came to this spot and got an amazing server named Nikki. She helped me decide my drinks and all. She gave the best recommendations and have the best spirit ever. And when I say she is very attentive…. She checked on me multiple times and I appreciate that more than anything. I will definitely come back! The food, music and atmosphere is perfect!!! Come enjoy Downtown Charleston and all it has to offer. Shopping, people and great atmosphere!
We were so excited when we realized this was essentially Ruby Slipper from New Orleans. We were disappointed once we got our food though. I assumed the recipes would be the same across the board, but definitely not. We ordered the loaded tots as an appetizer as it’s one of our favorite things on the menu. They barely has any of the Tasso sauce and just weren’t very flavorful. I ordered the biscuits and gravy and the gravy was so thin and runny. It had an off taste to it. The drinks were okay. Not sure how long they’ve been open so hopefully they work the kinks out. Our server was friendly and attentive.
A charming place to get breakfast. Great variety of food and drinks. The wait staff was good. It's great they let people who have dogs eat on the patio. We enjoyed watching all the customers bringing their pets in. Would highly recommend.
