So many times I wanted to try this bbq place, during this trip to Charleston, we decided to visit the restaurant. Clean on the inside and out, employees were very friendly to help us,first timers, decide what we want to try. Atmosphere and friendly staff were great, but will not be back for the food. My pulled hog plate lacked flavor, decided to use the table sauces… horrible water down “juice”. My wife had brisket. Was the better choice of the two dishes we tried. Great smoke ring, but it probably was days old and dry. The side of Mac n cheese was good. I am sorry, but will not visit again, maybe my expectations were high or just didn’t hit my flavor mark.

The food was delicious. My only question was why are they using seed oils for cooking when they cook whole hogs daily and make their own pork rinds. No way you don't have enough lard to fry with. That was kind of a bummer. Food was good though. Wings were excellent.

Delicious BBQ and southern foods. Casual atmosphere. Great sitting outside. Relax and enjoy great food with your friends and family. We tried pulled pork, brisket, hush puppies, collard greens, coleslaw, and corn bread. All good.

We decided to make Rodney Scott’s BBQ our first stop when we got to Charleston and we’re happy we did. We tried the pulled pork sandwich, the smoked chicken wings (with Kathy’s BBQ sauce), and the brisket sandwich. Everything came out really fast and i appreciated the depth of flavor, especially from the smoked chicken wings. I can see how their efficiency combined with the strong flavors makes for a great local option for BBQ and a great family option as well.

We enjoyed a late-lunch here over the Christmas holiday while visiting family in the Charleston area. I was very excited and had high hopes after watching the Netflix BBQ show featuring Rodney Scott’s BBQ. Gotta say the food was a little underwhelming! In their defense it was during the holidays and they were getting near closing time. We had burnt-ends, pulled pork, chicken, potato-salad, sausage & coleslaw. The pulled pork seemed almost ground….it was okay. The chicken was excellent and moist! Sausage, potato salad, burnt ends & coleslaw was good.
