Highly recommend P.P. Southern comfort food in the heart of Charleston. We dined inside and upstairs in the house. All of our drinks were well made(spritz and french 75). I ordered the whiskey flight and was treated to a local brand that offered three varieties full of flavor. For starters, I ordered the she-crab soup. I've never tried this, but it was my father's favorite dish. Their version was a highlight of my meal. We also had a plate of their fried green tomatoes. They were delicious and slightly spicy. For dinner, I went with the shrimp and grits, and I was not disappointed. We finished the evening with banana pudding and peach cobbler. Both were equally delicious. But what made the evening the best by far was the best server ever, Shelly. She graciously attended to us to perfection.
Our dining experience at Poogan's Porch was truly delightful! The staff was incredible, and the service from Campbell was exceptional—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. A big perk was the dog-friendly seating, which made our visit even more enjoyable. The pricing was fair, especially considering the high quality of the food. We highly recommend the banana pudding and trout; both dishes were absolutely delicious. Overall, Poogan's Porch exceeded our expectations, and we can't wait to return!
Poogan's Porch was incredible! Our waiter was delightful and engaging, offering us fantastic recommendations. We tried the fried green tomatoes, Poogan's Famous Bone-In Fried Chicken, the fried chicken sandwich, the fried flounder sandwich, and the hummingbird pecan pie. Each dish was a culinary delight, bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making our dining experience truly memorable. We can't wait to return!
Pretty good place for some breakfast food. The chicken and waffle was very good especially the syrup it had. Although the waffle had a bit of a sour taste assuming that’s part of the recipe, it was good. Chicken sandwich was pretty standard. SIDE NOTE: The parking lot next door is not theirs and it charges a high price. 2hrs was $24 and it doubled in price every extra 2hrs. Would recommend parking down the street at the garage for $6 instead.
We had this on our bucket list with a few other restaurants. Service and atmosphere were great. The fried green tomatoes with the remoulade was delicious and spicy. The fried chicken was pretty dry and extremely salty, as was the collared greens. I assume this is normal since I doubt they changed their recipe over the years. The drinks were good and salads looked delicious. The she-crab soup was one of the best I’ve had too
