as above the room, the service and the location all great. Bedding was great and nice to get ice with turn down service. I did not give them 5 stars for the following reason. 1. bad coffee. nice to have coffee on every floor near the elevator, but on this visit FEB2025 the coffee everyday was really weak. like watered down ultra light roast. last year the coffee was extremely bitter. not sure who their supplier or method is, but I had to leave the hotel every morning and walk to get a decent cup of coffee. 2.The bar is nice, but for 25.00 I expect a better "pour" on my martini.
Perfect location if you are looking for a quieter Charleston experience and to be walking distance to all that the historic district offers. A charming and unique Charleston upscale atmosphere (especially compared to corporate hotels on the north side). It's spendy, but you already knew that - the good news is you won't regret it. Good service, and great touches: fresh (tasty) coffee and fruit/muffins on each floor in the morning, and full service (valet, bellman, concierge desk, turn down service, etc.) Rooftop bar (and pool) are a big plus.
My husband and I spent 10 days in February at the Market Pavilion Hotel. The room was very comfortable especially the bed. The bathroom with its Bulgari products are very luxurious. The hotel is kept beautifully clean and the turndown service nightly is a very nice touch. Coffee, muffins and some fruit was put out every morning in the lounge on our floor. Another lovey touch! The staff are helpful, friendly and hospitable. The hotel is quiet and in an excellent location. The restaurant is outstanding. My only complaint is the menu at the bar/pool. It is very limited. I definitely recommend this hotel for an adult getaway.
I stayed here Feb 19th 2025. A dream. The halls (well everything) are incredibly clean and smell like fresh airy linen everything is immaculate. It’s like taking a step back in time. Glistening. Crisp. Sparkly. Your bathroom is enrobed with Italian marble. Real wood. Airy linen. King bed. Views of the bridge and of historic Charleston. Grill 225 was delivered to my room by the most professional and kind gentleman. He was thoughtful in every sense. The food was perfect. Juicy burgers and nice warm peach cobbler. So good. Some of the best I’ve had in YEARS! This place is on the top of my best 3 hotels. Thank YOU, Market Pavilion!
I have been traveling for a few years and still think back on the memories this hotel and 225 grill has left me. This hotel and restaurant are some of the best that exist. I look forward to the day I come back. It has been a standard I have held through many years after, comparing what we do to 225 grill and this hotel. Truly remarkable.
