We went in for lunch before flying out. The restaurant is beautiful and clean. The service was good. The staff was friendly and the waitress attentive. The bread they bring to the table is so delicious. I ordered the BBQ shrimp and grits, my husband ordered the shellfish over grits and my daughter ordered something off the specials menu. The food was hot, savory, and the presentation was beautiful.
First visit. It was highly recommended by our hotel. Hubby had the fried chicken, and I had the parmesan crusted catch of the day. Both were pretty good. Our starter was the fried green tomatoes that I highly recommend. You get sweet, salty, and savory which was a pleasure.
First and foremost…wow! The food was tasty and the presentation was perfect. As an Executive Chef, it’s very difficult to go out to eat at times…but Magnolias did not disappoint at all. We came into town for a quick getaway trip to Charleston, SC. We stayed at the Grand Bohemian Hotel just a few blocks away and they highly recommended Magnolias. we weren’t able to get reservations since it was extremely last minute, but we still walked over to the restaurant to check it out because I was curious what it looked like. Not only was the front of house and hostesses friendly, they were able to squeeze us in for a table of two. The drinks were delicious, the food was extremely flavorful and tasty, and the overall presentation of each entrée was immaculate. Our waitress was extremely friendly as well as a tentative to our needs while we were there. I look forward to my next trip to Charleston, since I will definitely be revisiting Magnolia to try some of the other tasty menu items.
Delicious! The salmon was cooked perfectly which is not a given at most restaurants so that's saying something. Ordered the half order of boulliabaise and it was very good. The crab soup was also delicious. The deviled eggs were passable though.
First impression was the atmosphere was very nice. We really enjoyed the decor and setting. We unfortunately didn't take a photo of the starter of fried green tomatoes because it was plated beautiful and the flavor was the best I have personally had. Fiance had fried green tomato BLT and really enjoyed it but the cornbread toast was different to her but said it was still good. I had the pan seared sword fish with Green beans and mushroom and pea risotto and it was fantastic. Very high quality and matching the price point.
