The service and the food was delicious. We will definitely eat here again when we visit Charleston. If you live here or plan on visiting Charleston and want good Italian food I highly recommend La Fontana Authentic Italian Restaurant. I ordered the Caesar Salad & the Lasagna Al Forno. My husband ordered the special, it had the Lasagna Al Forno, Chicken Parmesan, Eggplant Parmesan and Fettuccine Alfredo. He loved it all.

If you’re looking for good Italian food made by an Italian family that really knows what they’re doing this is the place to come. They have a sampler that will blow you away that includes four different types of food and each bite was better than the last. Everything that we have tried here has been amazing and on top of the food the owners are just so welcoming that you feel like you’re eating in a family home in the countryside of Italy. Highly recommended and don’t forget to get the bread…. it’s homemade and you have to be careful….you may just fill up on it and it would be a shame to not have room for desert.

Just disappointing I have tried this place a couple of times. Since it's in my neighborhood. Their sign says pizza their web page says pizza. I went in the first time and asked about Pizza and was talked to like I was stupid. The lady told me they haven't done pizza in years. I tried their pasta not good at all. Ragu sauce has more authentic flavor. Tried another time decided maybe they had an off night. Still not good. I got excited saw they were remodeling the restaurant hoped it was going to be something different. Nope lipstick on a pig. They still advertise pizza on the door and website. Don't waste your time.

Me and my wife went last night expecting another delicious meal as we had 6 months, it was our anniversary and I wanted to treat her to a delicious meal . Well it wasn't as delicious as our first experience, our pasta was overcooked, they ran out of michelob ultra ( they only serve 4 types of beer and the place wasn't packed there were only 4 tables being used at 6pm so they should have had plenty of beer in stock) the bruschetta appetizer we ordered which was so delicious 6 months ago was not very exciting and very bland which was disappointing because my wife wanted to go there just for that. I ordered bread with my meal which we received before our appetizer, the bread was these little bite sized pieces that you would serve to a child, it was like they took two regular size pieces of bread and cut them into small pieces (it was $3 for the bread). another disappointment was the cannoli my wife ordered for dessert, it was a little stale and very skinny like a childs serving, the real kicker was the fact that they charged us $12 for that one single skinny cannoli, an absolute rip off !!! They had one bathroom out of order so everyone had to use one bathroom which was not very clean. The table of people to my left was also having a bad experience ,one of them got something they didn't order and the server said he would take it off their bill but didn't until the gentleman got the bill and pointed it out to him which seemed to aggravate the server? Overall it wasn't a good dining experience, on the contrary it was very disappointing and we will not be returning unfortunately. I don't know what happened in the last 6 months but that restaurant isn't the same and wouldn't recommend it to anyone who's looking for a delicious Italian food experience.

Food was good but a bit pricey. No salad or bread included. Had to pay extra. Friend wanted white zinfandel. None available. Also wanted Chicken Francese, not available. Supposed to be more authentic Italian recipes. Smaller selection that used to on menu. Cannoli was $12. Very good, but almost double what we usually pay elsewhere. Service was great and server was courteous and helpful. Atmosphere good, a bit dark. Nice place if you know what to expect and can afford the cost.
