This establishment was phenomenal! The environment was very welcoming, comforting, and clean. The central location was very convenient as well. The food was absolutely delicious! The Carolina Delight with the bacon and cheese was mouthwatering, creamy and savory. The build your own platter was full of choices and delicious. The best scallops I have had in a very long time and that says a lot from this New England Girl. The steak was cooked to perfection and seasoned to the Gods. This was our first time and certainly will not be our last. The service was exceptional from Emily S, definitely ask for her when you come. We truly tip our hats to the chefs, the owners, and all the staff, thank you so much!
Amazing food! 😍 we’re in love with Hymans seafood, the food was delicious. I’ll definitely go back for more. The drinks weren’t amazing but they were good, also if something in your drink or food isn’t rigth, you can share it with the waitress and they’ll do their best to fix it for you. Lovely service, thank you so much.
If I could give Hyman’s Seafood a million stars, I would! This isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience worth every single mile. I drove 3 HOURS from Georgia just to eat here again, and let me tell you, it was 100% worth it! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with Southern hospitality at its finest. My server, Yolanda, was amazing! She was on point the entire night—attentive, warm, and had a sparkling personality that made chatting with her just as enjoyable as the food. She's a true gem who makes you feel like family from the first hello. And then there's Eli, the owner—what a guy! Down-to-earth, genuinely cares about each guest’s experience, and easy to talk to. It’s rare to find an owner who’s this present and engaged, and it makes Hyman’s feel like something special. Because it is. Now, let’s talk about this FLAVOR EXPLOSION of a meal: I started with a Double Jack & Coke tall, easy ice—smooth and just the way I like it. For an appetizer: Caribbean Jerk Shrimp—sweet, spicy, and perfectly cooked. A tropical party in every bite. Main course: Cajun Grouper—perfectly blackened, packed with bold, savory heat. Sides? Oh, they slayed the sides: Bourbon charred Brussels sprouts – smoky, slightly sweet, addictive. Steamed broccoli – fresh and vibrant. Hush puppies – golden, crispy little clouds of deliciousness. And the surprise star of the show? They brought out a complimentary sample of their world-famous coleslaw—and YES, it lives up to the hype. Creamy, crisp, and full of zing! This wasn’t just dinner—it was an unforgettable dining adventure. If you're anywhere near Charleston, do yourself a favor and RUN (don’t walk) to Hyman’s Seafood. The atmosphere is warm, the staff feels like family, and the food? Out-of-this-world DELICIOUS. Great spot for lunch right near the market. Strong drinks, big portions. Service was amazing - several people checked on us during our meal but Sasha really took care of us. Cute old world fishing charm decor. Sea salt scrub in the bathroom is a nice added touch!
Best restaurant in all of South Carolina. The best shrimp I have ever had! Highly recommend the fried shrimp, chilled shrimp, fried fish, and just about everything else the menu offers. You won't be disappointed. We loved the vibe of the restaurant and how nice & welcoming all the staff were. The owners even came by our table a couple times to make sure we were having the greatest dining experience we could. It really went above & beyond in my book. I completely understand why this restaurant has such a high rating and so many amazing reviews...because this place is amazing! Oh and I have to give a shout out to our fantastic server, her name was Tierney B. She crushed it. Service was perfect! I will be talking about the fried shrimp the rest of my life. Thank you for giving me faith back in the hospitality industry. Truly a wonderful experience. There was a bit of a wait when we arrived but it moved quick and they even offered hot hush puppies to those waiting. Such a lovely touch. 100/100 would recommend!
