My husband and I recently stayed at Hotel Bennett to celebrate our Honeymoon (married June 1st) and found out before our trip we are also expecting! We were excited to be celebrating two very special life events at Hotel Bennett.
The hotel itself is stunning. The location can't be beat. The staff was kind, responsive and helpful whenever needed. The real gem inside Hotel Bennett is Kevin at the concierge desk. If you want to get the most out of your experience in Charleston, do not skip by his desk. We enjoyed every activity he planned for us and took all the stress off of us in scheduling them. I can honestly say every dinner we had in Charleston (all recommended by Kevin) was 10/10.
We enjoyed our room and found it very clean and comfortable. The piazza is beautiful and we wish we would have taken more advantage of that on slow mornings/breakfasts. Which reminds me of the best blueberry muffin I have ever had, and can be found in the bakery downstairs.
My only constructive comment would be for the hotel to make more of an acknowledgement about special occasions, such as ours. A complimentary glass of champagne, slice of cake, or even just a simple note on the bed with well wishes would go a long way and I believe set this hotel over the top.
Thank you Hotel Bennett, we fell in love with Charleston and are already excited to come back.

We spent two nights at Hotel Bennett while traveling and were blown away by how friendly, helpful and incredibly knowledgeable all of the staff were. They were all wonderful, but I would like to give a special shout out to several employees that made our stay absolutely lovely.
Porters Brandon and Adam were so great, Brandon gave us all the details of the hotel including hours of operation for all the facilities and then the next day Adam filled out and entire walking route map for us with all of the important sights to see. Alyssa in the Club room was absolutely lovely and gave us great information about the city as well.
I would like to give a big shout out to Charlie at the front desk, he was so helpful and accommodating for all of our needs and lastly Alex our bus boy at the Gabrielle was sweet as pie and should get a promotion.

If I could give 10 stars I would. This Hotel is the epitome of luxury. The service is on a scale not ever seen in my lifetime. Gabrielle was an outstanding dining experience. Breakfast was delicious and appetizers/drinks were perfection. La Patisserie was also outstanding. The blueberry muffins were huge and I devoured them. The coffee was luxury in a mug. We ordered room service and felt like king’s and queens. We had the Pecan caramel desert also from Gabrielle and it was delectable. The housekeeping was top notch and the room was always neatened to perfection. The turn down service was impeccable. The rooms themselves are delightful. Every single employee greeted us with the most generous smiles. What a lovely experience I will never forget! Thank you!!!

You get what you pay for. And you get every cent out of Hotel Bennett. The room was immaculate. The staff was friendly and very helpful. A special shout-out goes to the concierge for giving us great suggestions and guidance. The cleaning staff also deserve an award. They went above and beyond with the small details. I would recommend staying at Hotel Bennett to anyone and everyone!
What a beautiful place! Charleston has a special charm all its own - The Bennett ties right into the flair of the city. Classy, without be stodgy, fancy without too much pretentious. We got to experience tea at Camellia's there - WOW! Everything was so relaxing, yummy, and pretty. And the servers were absolutely perfect in their roles there. We will definitely be back! Oh, and even if you are not staying there: early morning downtown Charleston is made SO much better by grabbing one of the beautiful french pastries in La Patisserie there. Their pastry chef is a transplant from France - and he is VERY good at doing authentic deliciousness. Their croissants are to die for. So there you have it: my current choice of best hotel/ tea room/ french café in Charleston, South Carolina.
