The everything w/ bacon-chive cream cheese bagel delicious combination! The traditional method of boiling then baking bagels really does create that distinctive texture. And bacon-chive cream cheese on an everything bagel? That’s a flavor explosion! It’s great how the chives add a fresh, savory contrast to the richness of the bacon and cream cheese Your coffee comes from the small shop next door.
My friend and I made it a priority to stop here on our recent trip to Charleston. There was a pretty consistent flow of customers upon arrival but they were able to keep the line moving. The inside is super cute and they also have a coffee shop right next door which you can access through the bagel shop. Bonus points for a small parking lot across the street! I ordered the pastrami, egg, and cheese on a rosemary salt bagel and my friend ordered an everything bagel with cream cheese. I would say both of them were delicious! My bagel had the perfect ratio of ingredients and the bagel had a really nice chew to it! The everything bagel with cream cheese was also executed perfectly. We both loved this place and the staff was also super friendly so check this spot out if you're in the area!
Great spot for your morning bacon egg and cheese fix or even just a good ol fashioned bagel with cream cheese. Holey City Bagels brings me back to my childhood in New York, and for good reason since the owners are from Jersey City. I’m always in search of a good bagel and these are legit! BEC on the rosemary salt bagel was great, and the everything with scallion cream cheese was just like I grew up with everyday after school.
Visiting Charleston, and found this coffee and bagel shop a block from our rental. It's a block or so from King Street. Small intimate setting, steadily busy indicating the locals support it well. Always a great sign. The coffee bar and bagel bar are in separate parts of the building, but will take orders for both (at least in bagel side). A very eclectic variety of 50's, 60's, 70's, and 80's music which is very satisfying. It is well staffed, orders are not rushed but don't take long at all. They are all friendly, greet you with a smile, and will engage in conversation. Morgan was awesome at the register, very friendly. All the staff was for that matter. Prices are competitive, and worth paying for a local establishment. The quality matches. Food was good. On Morgan's recommendation I had the bacon, egg, and cheese on a rosemary and salt bagel. It was an excellent combination. A little salty for my taste, but I don't like a ton of salt and it did not interfere with my enjoyment. My wife had the cinnamon and sugar bagel, while my bonus daughter and her friend had the asiago and cheese bagel. I also had an Americano, very well made. On second trip, I enjoyed the Lox on an everything bagel, very delicious. Great place to bring a book and start the day. Highly recommend.
I’ve been twice and would go again. The bagels are fresh and the lox deluxe option was indeed deluxe and very delicious! Also the coffee is STRONG!!!!!!!
