Loved staying at this gorgeous property! The staff are very attentive. Property is in a prime location in Charleston, walking distance to any and everything that you could possibly need or want. Our room was clean, large and the view was impeccable. Will stay here next time!

Disappointing, mainly because the front desk was not friendly. We went for our 35th anniversary and they were very cold and did not make us feel happy to be there. The hotel did put something special in our room, but we were leaving the hotel and we decided to wait to eat it until a little bit later in the day. We came back a few hours later and they had removed it. The breakfast restaurant was horrendous. The main bar area is only open part of the week. We will not go back and we will not recommend this hotel. I did give it two stars for service because the valet was excellent. You need that in the city. This did not feel like a luxury hotel in any way
. It is a shame they don’t have a Ritz Carlton or another higher level Marriott in the city. We live inland in South Carolina and plan on regularly visiting the city and the beach. We are at a loss for where to stay at this point being high-level Bonvoy members.

The customer service here was horrendous and has literally cost me thousands of dollars. I am and have been a Marriott Titanium Elite member for many years and have not had this experience before at a Marriott property. The valet damaged my car (which we were in the process of selling but now it is worth much less). It has very deep scratches in the back wheel molding. It is too deep to have gone unnoticed so there is a driver on the valet team that intentionally hid this from us. I contacted the hotel with pictures but they just point to the fine print that it is my responsibility to inspect the vehicle. When we drove away they backed it in and stood in front of that wheel so I did not see it. Based on the pictures it looks lie it was driven into a low concrete wall or something like that. The dishonesty of the valet staff is completely unacceptable and I would recommend that you stay somewhere else in Charleston. There are lots of other options (there is another Marriott property on this same street if you like the location).
Go back and watch the video of your valet standing in front of the area that was damaged when we picked it up. This was intentionally deceitful.

Where do I even start…everything was exceptional! From the moment I called to book a last minute late night room, to our dinner on property, to extending an additional day, and so much more…phenomenal! Noah was beyond accommodating when I called up and even more amazing in person during our entire stay. The restaurant on site was outstanding and room service was tasty. But the crown jewel of our stay was the well appointed room and all the amazing artwork throughout the hotel. I will absolutely be back again real soon. Such a stellar first experience in Charleston, SC.
The rooms cooled perfectly and the water pressure in the shower was strong.
Overall it was an amazing experience and Noah truly made it even better!
They even included a nice little note in the evening after turn-down service.

Such a disappointment at Grand Bohemian Charleston.
After anticipating this Marriott property would be great, and hoping for a special stay, what a let down.
Charleston is somewhat compact when it comes to downtown, so it's understandable that parking can be challenging, but we were met with the ONLY option being valet parking for the hotel, at a ridiculous cost of $49/day.
While the rooms are very spacious and beautifully appointed, this property is seriously overpriced for what one receives as a guest.
The service is mediocre, at best. Here's an example: When we checked out at about 9am, there were no other guests in the lobby. When I received my bill, I asked about the additional $49, and found that to be the valet parking. Now, it was obvious that we had a lot of baggage with us, to the point of struggling a bit, and since I had just inquired about the valet fee, it's also obvious that I am going to need my car next, right? Well, we stood outside at the valet stand for about 8 minutes or so, and when no one showed up, I went back in to the front desk and asked about the valet to get my car, to which the clerk answered 'Oh, she's right back here having coffee, I will tell her to come out.' WHAT?! The clerk KNEW we were leaving; why couldn't she have mentioned this to the valet right then? RIDICULOUS.
So, if just looking for a nice [but overpriced] room, in a fair enough location, sure. But if you are hoping for the level of service that is associated with the Marriott Brand, choose something different.
I have been a Marriott Elite Titanium member for many years and loyal to Marriott whenever and wherever I travel. It used to actually MEAN some to be an Elite member, but that is no longer the case, at least not at this property.
