This place is so cool! Lots of expensive things! I loved poking around and taking it all in. Found the cutest brass door knocker but it was a few hundred so I didn’t buy it.
FRAUD! Along with my husband I consigned a Trumeau mirror over 6 years ago. We are both senior citizens and the shop made it easy as they came to pick up the item. The shop sold the item and never contacted us - then ignored us for over a month once we noticed. Finally after my husband filed a complaint with the BBB we were sent half of what we were owed. Where is the rest?! I have reason to believe this business targets senior citizens such as myself hoping that either we die or forget about our consignment agreements. The owner is rude and disgusting and clearly a thief. Stay Away!
Incredibly rude shop owner as others have noted. The moment we stepped into the store and we mentioned we were just browsing, he insinuated we couldn’t afford anything and made it very clear we were unwelcome. Also some definitely racist caricatures displayed right at the front, which combined with what other reviews have said about the owner’s comments, certainly gives a negative impression of his views.
Expensive but rare items. Owner was horrible. He was Rude, snarky, and we exited through an unlocked door and he followed us out to scream and curse at us on the street in front of everyone for using that door. If you don’t want us to exit through a certain door how about you lock it and/or put up a sign saying don’t use the door?
I work with high end furnishings with exceptional clientele and stopped in the store during a visit to Charleston, as it’s great to know of places in the Eastern corridor to shop from. The trip to this shop lasted maybe three minutes, due to the fact that as soon as we stepped in the owner stated “if you can’t afford it get out”. Then made some offhand comment about us going to the welfare office. He can keep his antiques. Neither I or my clients need to pay four grand for some racist statues anyway.
