Finally, and distillery! You had me at mint! I found a new drink I can say I will enjoy. Wish I could have purchased a bottle, but I didn't know the cut-off time. Wish I could have supported direct, but Asheville ABC stores have it. Thanks for a fun music bingo that brought us out.
This is a great smaller venue! It was my first time here and it was nice. The parking situation was easy if you got there early enough, and if not, they do have a shuttle you take you from the other parking area. Inside the venue, there is plenty of room to stay back from the stage and not be crowded, or you can easily get close to the stage area if that's your thing! I definitely hope to go back in the future!
This review is about the distillery as a concert venue; the distillery was closed for the day so I can't say anything about the actual distillery. The venue is great, tons of open spaces, it was so nice to have the GA area separated into "blankets" and standing. It made for having a great view of the band no matter where you were. Great variety of food trucks and snacks, as well as vendors selling alcohol/sodas/boiled pnuts/water etc. I would make the drive again for future concerts at this location. Easy parking. Tons of seating. Nice flat grassy field.
Came down to do a tasting today and had a great time. Ended up meeting the master distiller/owner Jim. Our bartender for the tasting was very knowledgeable and knew the liquors like the back of her hand. We even ended up purchasing a bottle of the Bend & Steel and got Jim to autograph it for us. Will definitely be back again...
Amy was so kind and accommodated us for the tasting although we arrived several minutes late (they only do their tastings on the hour during the week). We didn't know about the tastings until I was reading about it during our drive there. And we are so grateful we got to join! They have so many unique products and flavors that it was such a great experience to taste from their variety. I am not much of an alcohol person, so I didn't drink, but Amy made me part of the group, answered my questions, etc. Some favorites from our group included the bourbon ball, blackberry whiskey, and the steel feather tea whiskey. My husband also ended up taking home a bottle of the espresso whiskey, which he loves. Everything was very smooth. Of note, Firefly also has a beautiful building and a great atmoshpere. Everyone is friendly and helpful. They have a fantastic cocktail menu. And there is a schedule with a lot of interesting events. We will definitely be back. Thank you for the great experience!
