I've been searching for a hairstylist ever since moving to South Carolina from New Jersey almost 3 years ago. I loved the cut from my stylist in Jersey and finally found someone who could replicate and improve upon that hair style. I am thrilled to have found Ashley! She took the time to discuss what I liked about the hairstyle and was completely open to looking at pictures I brought as references. From consultation, to shampoo, to cut, and finally blowout, she was meticulous at every point during my visit. I enjoyed our conversations that helped create a relationship which I hope continues for a long time. Hair is such an integral part of self-expression; and to find a highly skilled stylist who also has the ability to make clients feel comfortable is very important. I highly recommend Coven; kudos to Mac, the owner. I loved the cleanliness, decor, and all-around vibe of the salon. There are a lot of stylists to chose from and I'm sure you'll be able to find one who can give you exactly what you want! As an added convenience, there's a parking garage right next door. Although I'll miss my former stylist, I'm glad the stars aligned and I won't have to pay for an airline ticket in order to have my hair styled!!!
i have been coming to Ashley (and Coven) for my haircuts for a little over a year and she does a wonderful job every single time. The layers are always perfect and my hair grows out so nicely after she cuts it. Add in her prices and her personality and it is always a great experience. Plus, the vibe at the Coven just always makes me happy. It’s a safe space to be and get your hair cut.
What I asked for vs what I got. My hair was cut much shorter than I hoped. The stylist told me she only had to take 3 inches off. When I said it was much shorter than 3 inches. She pointed to the floor to show that all the pieces weren’t longer than 3 inches. The issue that she went over my hair several times , cutting inches off each time. My hair is at off lengths everywhere now and I’ve resorted to styling it one specific way to hide it. I didn’t cause a scene, I paid which was about $600 with tip. I wanted to cry honestly and did a little when I got home. I’m still struggling with growing my hair back and I ended up just dying it jet black because the “blending” looked worse as it grew. I don’t like leaving bad reviews but I wish stylists would just say they can’t do something instead of ruining peoples hair, or have the gal to take a look at their work when done and not pretend it’s awesome. I knew it was bad when she kept saying how awesome it looked as she worked on my hair. I left quietly and kindly but it just isn’t okay. I paid for the color, a moisturizing treatment and cut/style. The moisturizing treatment hurt pretty bad, the massage was just ripping my hair out and it hurt.
Emily was easy to work with and open to any suggestions that i made and answered any questions I had. Emily was also comfortable sharing her opinion in the best way! She was efficient and easy to talk to. 10/10 would recommend and come back again :) The salon itself has a really cool aesthetic and a fun vibe from the other hair stylists. I felt comfortable there!
Katelyn was amazing! She did a great job on my hair and gave me a great experience with it. This girl needs to be put back on the island cause she is the main character. She will definitely create a great bond with anyone and I’m proud to refer her to my friends. I love how my hair turned out, she saw the vision and brought it to life. If you ever want to do a cut, big change or project on your hair, this is your girl.
