I played Charleston National while on vacation. I am retired and try to play golf at least three times per week and booked my tee time as a single for $97. As I pulled up to the bag drop my first impression was not the best. The golf carts looked like they hadn't been cleaned all year(wondering if the course was in the same condition).I was paired with two nice gentleman that doesn't play golf very often and were only playing 9 holes. The pro shop didn't inform me that I would be playing the back side by myself. My tee ball off the first tee found a fairway bunker and I quickly realized that most of the golfers that play there have no idea how to keep a golf course in good playing conditions. The trap was filled with footprints! After seeing all 18 holes I believe the maintenance shop doesn't have a trap rake. ALL of the bunkers were in the same condition. The greens and fairways were good. If I had known the condition of the course and carts I would definitely have played Stono Ferry again. I will definitely not pay $97 to play Charleston National again.

We were scheduled to travel to Asheville for a fall trip to drive the Blue Ridge Parkway but the tragic flooding from hurricane Helene altered those plans. We decided on Charleston and tried to book a morning tee time online at the last minute. Charleston National was the only course in the area that could accommodate our twosome. We were paired with a local and his brother-in-law. The course was definitely worth the $107 we paid for this weekday round: scenic, well-cared for, nice greens. The staff was friendly, pace of play was good, and the beverage cart was well-stocked. There were marshals on the course but they weren’t annoying. Charleston National is a hidden gem that we would play again.

I came to play in this course while on vacation. We had a fantastic experience.
The staff was incredibly hospitable and courteous.
Ashley was super friendly, always smiling, and such a doll.
We came for our first club while visiting Mount Pleasant, and after having a few unpleasant experiences at another golf club, we came back to play here twice.
This place kept getting better and better every single time.
The course was very well maintained, and they had a great selection of beers and products on the service cart.
If we were to move down to SC, we would become club members. It even makes me wanna go back and play here again.
Keep up the great hospitality, please.

Played here while visiting Charleston and it was a beautiful, well maintained course. It plays pretty open with lots of sand and hazards. Front 9 was pretty short yardage wise with many doglegs. Greens are slower than what im used to after a recent rain. I had a twilight tee time, $56 for 18 but pace of play was pretty slow. Was able to finish 9.
Club rental was $35
Cart included with $56 green fee
$5 for small range bucket
Good beer selection upstairs in the bar.
If I moved to Charleston would definitely become a member.
4 stars because slow pace of play and I called many times in the afternoon to ask about club rentals and nobody ever picked up, they seem short staffed.

For $107 green fee, I’d expect range balls to be included and for carts to be better maintained, or atleast on the newer side. Bunkers all have crushed shell and rocks in the sand, and are clearly not raked by staff prior to opening. Fairways and greens were great condition and the hot dogs are a steal otherwise
Very clearly using the location and neighborhood to drive pricing, rather than the value of the product
