Stopped at the Crab house on our way home today. We chose to be seated on the roof top patio. It was sunny with a cool breeze. Perfect for dining on the rooftop. I opted for the daily special, fried blue crab salad and my husband had his favorite, shrimp and grits. We also started with calamari and the crab stuffed mushrooms. The food was great and our server was attentive and quick to correct a mistake with our appetizers. We will definitely visit again.
Found this little gem on our weekend trip to Charleston, SC. Located in the heart of downtown Charleston and literal ft from the Charleston Market. There is only paid street parking, so during the busy summer months it could get really hectic finding parking. However, if you’re looking to satisfy your craving for affordable and delicious seafood, I would recommend eating here. Drinks felt alittle over priced, but the main food dishes offered good portions. The overall vibes, friendly and fast service and prime location made it a pleasant place to stop in and eat. Would come back and dine again!
I love seafood and this place hit the spot! I loved the fried blue crab claws, steam pot with crabbiness extra seasoned and grilled seafood platter. It was all very fresh, tasty and really delicious! From the time we arrived everyone was friendly and hospitable. But our server COLLIN was amazing!! He was so friendly and treated us like family. We found out that he is a teacher and works with students which explains his patience and great attitude. He really made our night special and I’ve never had anyone ask us out names and spend time talking to Us and providing great service. The manager also came over and said hello and checked on us. It’s a vibe and you can dress up or down but the food is delicious! Must eat Charleston spot!
All of the food is incredibly delicious and high quality considering the low price. There is a wide variety of menu options with great appetizer choices. The service was quick and the atmosphere had an old local fish spot feel.
Atmosphere was casual and friendly. Seating in multiple areas, outdoor second floor, quiet in the back of the second floor or noisy front and first floor. Good drinks. Josh puppies were sinful and the honey butter added the hint of sweetness it needed. calamari appetizer was perfectly cooked and crunchy. Seafood boil was a bit salty and my potatoes were not as flavorful as I had hoped as well as firmer than I like. The shrimp and chorizo was amazing though. My friends enjoyed the seafood trio and it’s always fun seeing people crack crab legs.
