Nice smaller gallery in the French Quarter across the street from Pearlz seafood restaurant. This is at from the local artists in the Charleston Artist Guild. They have many paintings, prints and photography mainly. Some nice pieces and a good place to take a break grin the crowds in this rather touristy post of Charleston. The curators are very friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely worth a visit!

I literally visited at least 15 art galleries in historic Charleston, and this was by FAR my favorite. For starters, most of the other art galleries in the area have the same type of stuff over and over: landscapes or abstract pieces with muted colors. This gallery actually had a nice variety of different styles and representation. I especially enjoyed Regina Lee, Latha Hebbar, and Maryann Palmgren’s work.
Secondly, the prices in this gallery are actually affordable and accessible to those of us who can’t afford to spend half our annual salary on a painting.
Thirdly, they were warm, welcoming, and definitely delivered with the snacks and drinks. Glad I went and was exposed to some new artists to add to my collection. 🙂

After scouring a vast array of art galleries displaying the exact same sterotypical type of art, brilliant southern landscapes, this was a breath of fresh air. Brightly colored streets and landmarks have their place, but I wanted something different, something that grabbed me. What a pleasant surprise to find one piece that fit the bill. I bought it. Not only did this piece speak to me, it was affordable. The ladies were extremely helpful and I wish that I lived closer. Love this varied and respectfully priced shop.

Love this Gallery. They have over 70 different artist hanging with many various types of 2D art. Lots of beautiful works to choose from. They also offer packaging and shipping so if you are traveling there is no need to worry about how to safely transport your art work home. They will take care of everything for you, AND the best part, a portion of their sales goes back to a few local charities. This Charleston art gallery is a 501c non-profit organization and the hub for the local Charleston Artist Guild, which has more than 700 members.

Great little gallery. There is a good variety of different types of art. Keep is mind this is not your typical gallery with lots of expensive pieces (although there are a couple and are deserving of those prices). Most of the art here is lower quality which result in lower prices.
