Dessert Heaven with a Side of Charm Carmella’s is an absolute must if you’re in Charleston and have even the slightest sweet tooth. The vibe is cozy-meets-classy with just enough buzz to make it feel like the spot to be, whether you’re popping in after dinner or making dessert the whole event (which you totally should). The desserts? Phenomenal. Everything looks like it belongs in a magazine — and tastes even better. The gelato is creamy perfection, the cakes are rich and flavorful, and don’t even get me started on the tiramisu. Pair anything with one of their boozy coffees or prosecco-based drinks and you’re golden. The service is fast, even when the place is packed (and it usually is), and the staff is friendly without rushing you. It’s got that perfect balance of lively and relaxed — date night, girls’ night, or solo treat-yourself night… Carmella’s just works. If dessert is your love language, consider this place fluent.
Carmella’s is worth a pit stop while on a downtown adventure! Conveniently located near one of the busiest walking spots in town, Carmella’s is a go-to walk-in eat spot for a quick bite, dessert, or beverage. A nice selection if items, however, I’m generally stopping by for sweets. We got an ice cream sandwich and a HUGE waffle dessert that was enough for multiple people. Definitely picture worthy. Can get busy, but given its location and casual, walk-in nature, this isn’t surprising. A reliable, go to spot when enjoying a day out.
Only a short walk from the Charleston Market. This little gem is the perfect place to satisfy any sweet tooth while exploring the heart of Charleston, SC. They had a fantastic selection of desert alcoholic concoctions plus coffee drinks. Most of their deserts were also Gluten free, which was nice. The cakes are alittle rich for my tastes but I adore their banana pudding. Pricing was pretty good considering how big their cakes portions were. Overall a very welcoming open space. Seating is limited especially on busy hours. However, if you do snag a spot, the warm decor and inviting atmosphere makes it the perfect hang out spot.
I love the vibe. Classy, light and vintage. A wide variety of menu options. Delicious food. We had the pleasure of chatting with the manager who was so friendly and conversational. I loved that management hopped up to help staff BEFORE they got backed up. Everyone seemed generally friendly. Very cut spot with a parking deck conveniently right behind them. Also they had a water tap with ambient water, chilled and sparkling water!
The Hummingbird Cake and Tiramisu was amazing! The chocolate peanut butter cake is super rich and heavier on the chocolate but overall good. Come before 10AM on a Sunday skip the line and it’s not crowded.
