Did you know Carmella’s just took home Charleston’s Choice 2024 award for best desserts? After our experience there on Sunday, I can confirm this is well-deserved! Besides the most iconic sweet treats, Carmella’s features a creative sandwich menu using house-made ciabatta, plus drunken shakes, coffees, breakfast options, and more. Paired with the most upbeat vibe and welcoming staff, I couldn’t think of a better way to spend a rainy day (or any day!) in Charleston. The chocolate peanut butter cake was next level! A rich brownie base stacked with layers of decadent chocolate cake and a peanut butter honey filling- it literally gave me the chills it was so good! Don’t forget to check out their seasonal menu; the pumpkin cheesecake is perfection!

My husband and I were told to stop here after a walking tour on a rainy night. We made our way through the rain and hit the spot and boy, was it worth it! The line was long but moved quickly, the service was great, and the food was impeccable! I mentioned that it was our anniversary and they even gave us a discount. Thanks for being an incredible anniversary cake! This really was a perfect way to end the day, and it really was the perfect size for two very hungry rain soaked people.

There is no wonder this place is popular and busy! We got the canoli cake and WOW! It was perfection. One of the top desserts in my life to be honest. Rich, creamy, decadent, and delicious. The service was friendly and quick despite it being busy. They just need a larger spot to do their good work 🙌🏼

Lovely place! There is a little something for everyone: coffee, ice cream, sandwiches, sweats, and a full bar. Ample amount of sitting inside and outside. We had their latte, espresso martini, and apple cheesecake. Everything was very good, definitely will be visiting again next time in Charleston.

So fun and so good!! I had the double stuffed candy cookie! Yum! Husband had the salted caramel gelato. Very fun music and vibe! Lots of fancy dessert drinks as well!!
