Update 1/11/2025, an administrator Allison, responded and stated that she would refund my purchase or gift card me a week ago if I responded to the email she sent to me. I did a week ago and heard nothing back from her. Guess that was all talk. Remember, I’m a local and I will never watch your TV show again. You need to reach out to me as you stated in your response to me. I’m a ‘(local)’ and I have enjoyed watching this businesses TV show series over the years on SC-PBS-TV. I always wanted to try out this business at one of their local areas. Today, I was not impressed with the food or the service. My order was the BLT, and my partners was the Fried Chicken Buscuit. After I got our order and had to ask for my sales receipt which was handed to me without this person saying anything to me, I took our order over to the seating area outside the glass doors to eat. When I opened mine, it was a disaster…the biscuit was crumbled and not a whole biscuit as you can view from the picture I took. My partner said that hers was tasty but cold, as was mine too. I had to pick up my crumbled up biscuit with my fingers since I couldn’t hold it. I ended up throwing it away as you can see in the picture. I also wasn’t impressed by the customer service. The lady who waited on us was polite but once my order was in she left and went back to the area where the food was being prepared and I ended up finishing my debit card transaction. When the transaction was complete, I wanted a receipt, so I hit receipt and it didn’t come out on my end but behind the counter because I had to request it from the older gentleman who was standing there doing something. He tore it off and didn’t even once look at me when I asked for it and handed it to me. Still no one said thank you. When my order was ready, my name was called and a younger gentleman handed it to me and he did say thank you. After watching your television show for years and seeing how you strive on customer service and the quality of your food, I wasn’t impressed. I’m a local, and I didn’t feel like going back up to your counter and explain all this. Hopefully you’ll make it right for all customers. Say what you want in response…but whoever does reply, you weren’t there when this all occurred.

We stopped in for a quick breakfast in the market. We ordered the biscuit and gravy and the biscuit with pimento cheese and sausage. The biscuit sandwich completely fell apart, but the biscuit was moist and not dry. The sausage is microwaved, but tasted fine. The egg I truly didn’t like and just removed it. The gravy for the biscuits and gravy was very thin, but the seasoning was nice. I’m glad I tried it, however it wouldn’t be something I chose in the future, but would eat it if someone gave it to me.

Ridiculous 40+ minute wait time after ordering just to receive undercooked biscuits. We got in a very short line Thursday at 12:20pm to order some of the little biscuits thinking it’d be real quick and got to the register within a couple of minutes. It then took over 40 minutes for us to receive our 3 little biscuits. With everybody waiting it became super crowded and they had to stop taking orders. At around 15 minutes they said it would be 7 more minutes. 15 minutes later they said the little biscuits were still doughy so it’d be even longer. Finally got our biscuits and lo and behold, they’re still doughy…at that point cook them all the way for another 2 minutes instead of giving out undercooked dough after already waiting that long. Flavors were good but everything else was horrendous.

When we decided to come to Charleston for vacation, one of the things on our "to eat" list was Callie's based on seeing her on TV so often. Sadly, we were disappointed this morning. We visited the city market location at about 10 a.m. and got no smiles or personality from the staff. The biscuits were dry and hard, like they'd been sitting out awhile, and my egg had cold spots. My husband ordered the fiery pimento cheese on his otherwise plain biscuit. Not only was it plain pimento, there was barely a tablespoon of the stuff.
The mint sweet tea and coffee were good at least.

Edited: HLB generously shipped GF biscuits & mix to my doorstep. The biscuits were delicious. So happy to have something to share with my celiac friends and family!!! Thank you for your response, Hot Little Biscuit staff.
Original review: Not gluten friendly as advertised. I arrived at 10a and they were out of GF biscuits. When I asked if they’d have some later, the cashier said maybe he’d make two more GF biscuits in twenty minutes. There was no attitude of openness or customer service…despite there being no line behind me whatsoever. The cashier had a very dismissive attitude regarding GF. As someone with celiac, I was super excited to try Hot Little Biscuit & buy a bunch to take home to my family up north. Instead, I left buying nothing.
Three stars so I don’t hurt the business unnecessarily. It’s a one star in my mind.
