Went for Sunday dim sum, which is like traditional Chinese tapas. It was all sooooo unbelievably good. I’m a California native and the food was like being back in Chinatown San Francisco!! I have not seen proper dim sum of this level since moving to the south 5 years ago. My favorite dish, Lo Mai Fan, was cooked to perfection and tasted exactly right. Everything else we ordered was highly memorable as well. Will definitely be back!!!

This is a hidden gem for us. We visit Charleston several times a year and always look for new places to try. This was our first visit to Beautiful South but will not be our last. We went for lunch right as they opened. The hostess, bartender, and chef were all apart of our dining experience and we loved every moment. We ordered the Shanghai Style Cucumbers (MY FAVORITE), Special Beef Dumplings, Black Pepper Beef (SECOND FAVORITE), and Sweet and Sour Pork. We took our time and enjoyed the meal and conversation with the staff. The vibe was light hearted and there was some really good music in the background. We can't wait to come back and I'll be craving those Cucumbers until the next time! Thank you for celebrating our anniversary with us!

Amazing!
Definitely come with friends or family. Whether you're doing dim sum (Sundays only) or their standard menu, everything is family style. So bring hungry bellies and order several items to try as much as possible.
I went with a group of three ladies and we ordered 3 cocktails (I recommend the Jade Mountain for something different and yummy), rice, green beans, cucumbers, beef dumplings, and General Tso's chicken. It was the perfect amount for us. Everything was absolutely delicious (can't stress this enough - flavorful, hot, all the right textures, etc.). There was a great balance between familiar/classic foods and different items with a unique twist. And the prices were reasonable for the vibe.
The bathrooms were clean. The staff was friendly. I wish I remembered our server's name - she was helpful with making recommendations and checked on us regularly.
Will certainly be back!

I have been missing the opportunity to enjoy dim sum and I am grateful that Beautiful South has added this to their menu! Every item that we ordered is something that I would definitely order again! But I'm also looking forward to trying new things on their menu and I'm sure they will be terrific as well. The service was wonderful, Ambiance terrific, noise level perfect, it was a very enjoyable experience!

When I was visiting Charleston, I went to Kwei Fei first and was told about Beautiful South so I had to check it out. I went on a Sunday during dim sum. Loved it! I recommend bringing some friends so you can try more dishes. The bao buns and ribs were amazing. It was all good. Don’t forget to order the sesame donuts. They were the perfect way to end the meal.
