This is a hidden gem for us. We visit Charleston several times a year and always look for new places to try. This was our first visit to Beautiful South but will not be our last. We went for lunch right as they opened. The hostess, bartender, and chef were all apart of our dining experience and we loved every moment. We ordered the Shanghai Style Cucumbers (MY FAVORITE), Special Beef Dumplings, Black Pepper Beef (SECOND FAVORITE), and Sweet and Sour Pork. We took our time and enjoyed the meal and conversation with the staff. The vibe was light hearted and there was some really good music in the background. We can't wait to come back and I'll be craving those Cucumbers until the next time! Thank you for celebrating our anniversary with us!
Went to one of my favorite restaurants in Charleston today for lunch. I hope all of you are hungry and head on over to Beautiful South by Kwei Fei on Columbus St downtown after seeing these pictures and reading my thoughts on what I had today. First course was Scallion Noodles, then I had an order of the Beef Dumplings in an incredible sauce that I then poured over rice to take home for lunch tomorrow. The last item I ate was the Three Treasures, which is new to the menu for this month. It has eggplant, potatoes and peppers prepared in the wok and served with a delicious sauce that I also mixed with some rice to take home for my wife’s lunch. Every single one of these dishes were exceptional and over the top tasty. If you look closely you will also see the Asian mustard to kick some of the dishes up to my fancy. Thank you David, Adam, Victor and the staff for an awesome meal.
I have been missing the opportunity to enjoy dim sum and I am grateful that Beautiful South has added this to their menu! Every item that we ordered is something that I would definitely order again! But I'm also looking forward to trying new things on their menu and I'm sure they will be terrific as well. The service was wonderful, Ambiance terrific, noise level perfect, it was a very enjoyable experience!
Dim Sum Sundays just made Charleston a lot more interesting! Big fans of the beef dumplings, scallion pancakes, and salt and pepper pork. Avery was an awesome server and steered us in ordering. You order by checking items on the menu & flavors are all super impressive. The matcha drink was awesome!
The food was phenomenal, service was awesome as well. I would say this is elevated take out. Sweet and sour pork, Gen Tso Chicken, and the deconstructed Crab ragoon were all outstanding. On top of that, great cocktails as well.
