Worth the money to tour! As a history buff, I would recommend .. fascinating history you don’t get very detailed in history books, at least not where we are from. The tour guide did a wonderful job explaining the dungeon and the artifacts on display help tell the story from a different angle. The staff was friendly and encouraged all the questions anyone had.
A neat piece of Charleston history. Not a long tour, so it won't take up a lot of your day. There is a guided/narrated portion, and then a self guided portion to explore. Cool things to check out if you like history.
What an amazing place to discover real history that impacted a new nation so long ago. Definitely take the dungeon tour, the guides are amazing and knowledgeable and even have a sense of humor. ;)
It was interesting to hear about all the important events that took place here. Tours of the dungeon depart every 30 minutes. It takes about an hour to see everything.
Great stop for history enthusiasts (mostly kept discussion to the Revolutionary period). And you get a discount if you're a teacher or veteran. The dungeon part of the tour went by fairly fast, but they have more story-telling and information in the exchange portion of the building so once we saw all that I felt like it was worth it.
