My biggest regret about eating at Melfi’s was that I didn’t come in sooner. My husband and I were blown away by the food. The atmosphere was vibrant and upscale…Perfect for a date night or special occasion. The spicy ceasar was hands down the best ceasar salad we’ve had. The arancini was delicious, dirty martini well balanced, but the pasta was the star of the show. We got the bolognese and bucatini and couldn’t pick a favorite. My husband was ready to come back the next day. Thank you, Melfi’s!

Partial glasses of wine, partial martinis, selling pork shank and calling it "osso buco." Sitting people outside in the frigid cold with an embarrassing array of extension cords that both a server and manager tripped on. These people just don't care. This place is run like it's Times Square. Not really sure how they think this is a sustainable way to run a business in a small city. I would ask how they expect any return diners, but judging from the crowd, they've pivoted to making this a dining hall for College of Charleston. They must not care that they've lost the community. I love the "no standing at the bar" policy, however, it's not a great look when the manager (short, bald, smug) then stands with his mom and dad at the bar for two hours. The ownership group has clearly lost the plot. I'm embarrassed to have a place like this in a city I call home...and no, we wouldn't like to purchase this grotesque blanket to commemorate a horrifying experience.

Melfi’s on Charleston’s King Street is a culinary gem that seamlessly merges Italian traditions with a modern twist. From the moment you step through the doors, the ambiance captures a refined yet approachable charm—perfectly setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. The Spicy Caesar Salad was a palate-awakening delight. Crisp romaine leaves dressed with a bold, piquant twist elevated this classic starter into an exciting adventure of flavors. The prosciutto and burrata followed, an Italian classic done right. The velvety burrata paired effortlessly with the delicate, salty ribbons of prosciutto, creating a harmonious balance that felt indulgent yet fresh. For the main event, the Mafalde Pasta took center stage. The handmade noodles were cooked to al dente perfection, their ruffled edges capturing every bit of the perfectly balanced sauce. Each bite was a symphony of texture and taste, showcasing the care and craftsmanship behind the dish. No Italian meal is complete without dessert, and Melfi’s Tiramisu was a triumph. Layers of mascarpone and Italian custard were as light as a cloud, beautifully contrasted by the robust espresso-soaked ladyfingers and a dusting of sharp cocoa powder. It struck a flawless balance between sweetness and depth, leaving a lingering note of satisfaction. Melfi’s is a must-visit for anyone exploring Charleston. Each dish reflects an unwavering dedication to quality and authenticity, making it a destination that deserves to be at the top of your dining list.

Came for cocktails and they were unique, well crafted and nicely presented. Came on a Monday to sit at the bar but they had no reservations available. Must be great food if there's no reservations available on a Monday night.

My wife and I visited Melfi’s for her birthday a couple weeks ago and we had a great time here together and enjoyed our dinner a lot. The espresso martini was amazing here! Best one I’ve had so far. Melfi’s menu was amazing from their options and we wished we could’ve tried more, but we will have to next time. The reason for me giving 4/5 stars is due to our service we received from our waiter. When he originally approached us he didn’t seem like he cared for us there, he didn’t ask what brought us into Melfi’s tonight when on the reservation I put in it was my wife’s birthday. We were not looking for anything free, but expected a higher level of good customer service at least and welcoming. Everybody else that assisted us from this other waitress who brought our food out and the manager was very nice to us. They made it pleasant there. Our waiter was extremely slow and showed no care in urgency. The table next to us when they sat down even noticed how our waiter was and we heard them talking about him which we were glad we weren’t the only ones. We felt like he knew he would get a tip and didn’t care about our dining experience. That didn’t ruin our dinner at all, but something I definitely wanted to bring up especially for the amount of money we spent here. Overall, we enjoyed our food a lot, but the service we received from our waiter was not matching to our great food.
