Situated on the edge of Charleston Harbor and offering spectacular views of the city, Fort Sumter, and ships arriving from all over the world, Patriots Point has been a favorite place to play for local Charleston golfers and resort guests for years. Located in Mount Pleasant at the foot of the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge and just five-minutes from downtown, any golf trip to the historic city of Charleston is not complete without a round at this memorable harbor-side golf course.
Fun links course, great views of the Charleston Mount pleasant harbor as well as Arthur ravenel bridge in the backdrop. Gusty conditions are certainly expected. when we played the greens were lightning fast partially because they were barren of grass. otherwise would have given this a higher rating. not to mention it has gone up in price over the years.
While visiting family in the area I had the pleasure of playing this course. It didn’t disappoint! Beautiful location, welcoming atmosphere, helpful staff, easy to check in, and a well kept links style course with great fairways, fast greens, powder soft bunkers (only 2xs), a very good pace of play and a great place to have a cold one . I already told my son I would love to play this course when I come back next year!
Played Patriots Point on 4/10/2025. This course has completely lost their greens, they are unplayable. They are charging FULL PRICE and it’s criminal they never mentioned beforehand that you can’t putt. Do not play here, total rip off. See photo, ALL greens are the same.
This is a beautiful course and has a lot of potential to be a solid spot. Unfortunately, there’s where the positives end. The greens are in terrible shape, like a struggling course on verge of bankruptcy with $15 green fees bad. I’ve played in better conditions on $25 courses. The greens were dark grey sand with only 15% actual grass. All of the fairways are not smooth either like they have some sort of drainage issue. You can have all of this for the nominal fee of $135 plus tax. For $135, I’d at least expect the greens to be actually green. I don’t think the views from the course outweigh just how terrible the conditions are.
The course is in brutal shape. The greens are the worst in all of Charleston. No grass. All dirt. They said the discounted the rates from $150 to $100. Played like a $40 course. No forewarning ahead of time about the shape of the course. Do not recommend this course to anyone. There are cheaper courses in better shape. Asked for a discount past the supposed already “discounted” rates and none were given
