My husband and I just left the Enclave at the Vendue for our 15 year wedding anniversary.
To be honest, it was not our first choice of places to stay, but I am so glad that this is where we ended up staying.
The location is great and walkable to all of our favorite places to go in Charleston.
I love the fact that it’s a little tucked away from the Main Street.
The staff was so kind and accommodating to any question and request that we had.
The extra special touches of the coffee bar set up, breakfast treats delivered to your door each morning, speciality mimosas and chocolate covered strawberries offered at 10 am both days we were there, champagne at the front desk, and the elegant charm and atmosphere of the inside make this hotel an absolute must have when we go back to stay.
We stayed in a suite that was located behind the private art gallery and it was such a beautiful walk to and from our room each day.
We did peek into other non suite rooms when they were being flipped and they are just as lovely and very spacious.
Just remember if you stay there, be sure to ask about added bonuses that come along with it at check in if the desk person does not tell you.
If I had to have a complaint it would be that we were not informed of these things or handed champagne upon arrival that other guests were receiving.
This tiny little annoyance is really nothing after we stayed there and were treated so well :)
Thank you to the Enclave for making this such a special and memorable trip for this couple with 4 kids and hardly any alone time :)
We will absolutely be back.

The Vendue's location is its best point. It is close to the waterfront and water taxi, it is within 10 minutes of walking to many restaurants. We stayed at the Enclave portion of the Vendue.
The entrance has two steps and the hotel has no elevator. Keep that in mind if you have mobility limitations. The rooms are attractive, but have no furniture that can be moved. In particular, I wish there was a chair or even better an arm chair, where one could relax. There is no table for breakfast, and no chair with a back. I had to request a shower chair to have a place I could sit or dry myself off. The morning breakfast was not what I expected. Each morning there was a bag with muffins on my door handle, the same option for the five days we stayed here. Some days the coffee was not refilled, some days the sugar was not refilled, another day hand towels were not given. This was all fixed with a phone calls to housekeeping, but I would have preferred not to have to make the calls. The hotel is located in a noisy area, there were ravving motorcycles and people talking. Earplugs were very helpful. The staff was very helpful, and overall we enjoyed our stay.

We’ve stayed twice at The Vendue and will stay there again in the future. Staff was amazing both stays. Be prepared for quirky, uneven floors, narrow hallways and small (slowish) elevators. The quirkiness of these things really adds to its appeal and charm. My wife and I love the uniqueness of it. Rooms are well appointed. The shower was great. The bed was very comfortable. Anything not in our room was delivered quickly by hotel staff. Cookies and milk at 9PM was fun. Art tours were cool. The location can’t be beat. Short walks to King St and Meeting St restaurants, bars and shops. So much history to experience on the neighborhood streets just across East Bay St from the hotel. If Sullivan’s Island is your thing, it’s a quick 20 minute Uber. Highly recommended!

If you stay at The Enclave, make sure to request to *not* be placed in Rooms 141 or 143. The massive window in the room only serves to allow you to play yourself in your own version of The Truman Show. You can’t let the window shade up unless you’d like to high five the people walking down the sidewalk. It’s insanely disturbing to invite the entirety of Charleston into your bedroom. Also, the common areas and the staff are very nice and fairly upscale. The room itself…meh, at this price point. They definitely slapped lipstick on the pig when doing the renovations.

We stayed at The Enclave at the Vendue and it was excellent. We were greeted at check-in with a glass of champagne which was such a nice touch after a day of travels. The staff is WONDERFUL! I can’t say enough about the whole staff who truly made our visit welcoming. This quaint, trendy hotel has all the special touches which included a fabulous art gallery. Added touches that enhanced our experience were muffins, pastries, and fruit delivered to your room each morning, Coffee and fruit flavored water in the gallery, treats in the afternoon, and cookies left in your room each night. The location is perfect and within walking distance to many restaurants and sites. Be sure to check out their rooftop bar which provides an amazing view! The Vendue understands how to make you feel welcomed and provides excellent service. True Charleston charm! We can’t wait to visit again soon!
